Burnout is something that many of us may be experiencing during the lockdown, it’s easy to feel burnt out when you’re unable to distract yourself by going out and living life freely. So, what is burnout? Burnout is the feeling of exhaustion (mental, physical or both) due to prolonged stress or repetition.
During the last couple of weeks, I've found myself unable to produce results consistently through photography, lacking the motivation sometimes and explore! Naturally, it’s been weighing me down and impacting my motivation.

So, what have I done to overcome this? Change things up! Look to make small changes to your routines or approach. I’ve applied this to my daily walks, looking for streets or sets of stairs which I’ve never explored. These changes may seem insignificant to most people however, making these small changes have allowed me to see and capture new scenes I would typically overlook!
Another method to change things up is to change the time of day I go out. Locations offer different opportunities depending on the time of day you visit. You can capture completely different moments at sunrise compared to mid-day or at sunset. All of this sounds obvious but, I find that people tend to overlook the small details.
One last example is to try something new! A great example for me is this, writing blog-style posts on LinkedIn about topics I often ponder over. LinkedIn is a great medium for me to express myself whilst also sharing my passion for photography! Trying new things is a great way to challenge & develop yourself. At the end of the day, your creativity is limited to your ability to change things up and seek out new opportunities/challenges.
So, if you’re feeling burnt out, look to change it up! Don’t always look for significant changes, focus on small and seemingly insignificant changes you can make because they often lead to bigger and better opportunities.
Seek to change things up, let’s get creative together!
